Star Trek:

Here’s a new trailer with some new footage.

Transformers

Because this is still a thing that is inexplicably happening… okay, not inexplicably… you people gave Bay’s Transformers trilogy more money that the GDP of many Third World nations… Seriously, stop it… Anyway, Mark Wahlberg offers this in response to someone’s question about the sequel being more grim and gritty and less this:

I will never stop reminding you that this is what you paid $17.50 to see in IMAX

“Yeah…I don’t want to get fired before I get started, but you’re on the right track!”

So… yeah.

Sorry, but I don’t think you can get more grim and gritty than the 80’s animated movie aimed at kids which decided that in order to sell a bunch of new toys, they were going to systematically show just about all of the old beloved Transformers from the children’s cartoon show brutally killed off one by one in various sadistic fashions while some hair band did power ballads.

Look, you little urchins, it’s time you learned the facts of life, if you don’t produce enough revenue for a soulless corporate entity, you too will find yourself quickly replaced by a younger, stupider version that we can pay 20% less.

Evil Dead 4

So there was talk that Sam Raimi and company were going to start writing a fourth Evil Dead movie and now comes word that if it ever gets done, it would be an Army of Darkness sequel, which would make sense give that that was the last movie done in the series.

From Slash Film

STYD talked to Tapert this past weekend at SXSW, and when asked about the recent Evil Dead 4 rumors he replied,

That would be Army of Darkness 2. Everybody calls it Evil Dead 4 but Army of Darkness wasn’t called Evil Dead anywhere except by the fans.

And Bruce Campbell is pretty sure it’s on their collective wish list, but probably not happening. Which makes me sad, not because I’m a particular fan of the Evil Dead series, but because there needs to be more Bruce Campbell in all things media related.
