Captain America 2
I confess, I love superhero movies set in the Golden Age of comics. I own The Shadow and The Phantom. I loved The Rocketeer, so naturally, Captain America was really my favorite movie of the standalone flicks in Phase 1 of the Marvel Universe.
After all of the grim, dark, and gritty movies about superheroes we’ve seen where the filmmakers deconstruct the myth and make the hero miserable, it was refreshing to me to see a film about good vs. evil, where the hero was a good man before he put on a costume and stayed a good man throughout the flick.
Cap was also right up there with Hulk as my favorite part of the Avengers movie. So with word that Marvel is starting production on the movie today, it makes me totally geek out.
“Captain America: The Winter Soldier will pick-up where Marvel’s The Avengers left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff (Scarlett Johansson), aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C.”
