Bond, James Bond

Sam Mendes will be back to direct the next Daniel Craig Bond film.

CULVER CITY, Calif., July 11, 2013 – Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli, EON Productions; Gary Barber, Chairman & CEO, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer; Michael Lynton, CEO, Sony Entertainment, Inc, and Amy Pascal, Co-Chairman of Sony Pictures Entertainment today announced that Daniel Craig will once again return as the legendary British secret agent in the 24th James Bond film and Sam Mendes will also return to direct the screenplay written by John Logan. The film is set for release in UK theaters on October 23, 2015 and in US theaters on November 6, 2015.

I liked Skyfall, even if there were some plot holes big enough to drive an Aston Martin through, so I’m happy to hear this.

It will be out here in the states in November of 2015, while you lucky Brits will see it two weeks early.

How to Train Your Dragon 2

Here’s a teaser featuring Hiccup and Toothless.

While I do think the first film was perfect as it was, it’s probably because of that that I can’t call this an unnecessary sequel.

I, Frankenstein

Over the course of the last few years, Hollywood has done their best to make sexy vampires, sexy werewolves, and sexy zombies, which would only work if said ‘sexiness’ was used as a lure on unsuspecting humans as a prelude to said monster eating them, because THESE ARE ALL MONSTERS.

But people all bought tickets to go look at sparkly vampires and shirtless werewolves in Daisy Duke shorts, so here you go, people. This is what you’ve wrought. Meet sexy Frankenstein’s Monster:

As a brief reminder, this is supposed to be a guy who is composed of various pieces of rotting, decayed flesh from numerous corpses that Victor Frankenstein dug up and shot 1.21 Gigawatts of electricity through to make it alive again.

So what I’m saying is this is all your fault and you should really stop it now before we start getting sexy Leprechauns, sexy orcs, and sexy serial killers in hockey masks who just want to be hugged.

Captain America 2

And finally, Hayley Atwell will be reprising her role as Agent Peggy Carter in a Marvel movie short that will be included on the Iron Man 3 Blu-ray/DVD. The short will be set about a year after Steve Rogers takes a dive into the Arctic and becomes a popsicle, which I had always assumed was set pretty close VE day, but maybe not.
