Food Review: Del Taco Crunchtada and Chicken Crunchtada Pizza

It’s a tostada.

This food item is not good enough to justify inventing a new word to describe it, people.

Seriously, stop with the marketing-speak crap. You’re not Taco Bell.

This is beans, cheese, red sauce and lettuce on top of a crispy corn tortilla. What more can I say in a review? Do you like tostadas? Yes? Then you’ll like this. It’s not restaurant quality, but it tastes good, it is reasonably filling, and it costs a dollar. Not the greatest thing in the world, but a decent value for the price.

If you feel like paying around a buck and a half more, there’s the Chicken Crunchtada Pizza.

It’s a chicken tostada.

Shocking, I know…

It’s beans, cheese, lettuce, red sauce, tomatoes, cilantro, and chicken on a crispy corn tortilla. It also has a small amount of another tangy sauce that they drizzle on top. The ingredients are flavorful enough, and there is a nice blend of textures. The sauce is okay, but since someone there had heard my rants begging food joints to stop drowning their meals with sauce, you don’t get much, and you don’t need much, because this is a chicken tostada and I like chicken tostadas.

Just to be absolutely clear:

Pizza

Tostada

Something almost, but not quite entirely, unlike pizza...
